Description :

The SWISCORP team was mandated as consulting engineer for the rehabilitation of the regulation system of the three Francis units of the Salvajina hydroelectric power station, in Colombia. Work followed one another on each of the units, with a power of 125 MW.

Three main challenges marked this mission:

  1. Access to the power plant, located in an area classified as high risk, requires rigorous planning to guarantee the safety of those involved.
  2. Existing technology of Japanese origin, requiring in-depth mastery to be able to integrate new systems optimally.
  3. Logistical constraints, linked to the manufacturing and delivery of high quality elements, represent a crucial issue for the success of the rehabilitation.
